Sabi Gold Judicial Manager Dr Wesley Sibanda says the gold mine is likely to be removed from judicial management and handed back to its owners after it started showing signs of recovery.
The mining firm which had stopped operations in 2004, resumed operations last year after its owner Zimbabwe Mining Development Company (ZMDC) signed a deal with a local investor Chandiwana Mining Coperation.
In a telephonic interview with YA FM News, Dr Sibanda said the mine has returned to profitability and they are targeting to reach 70kg of gold per month.
Dr Sibanda added that the mine has also done a lot to promote gender mainstreaming with 2 out of 10 employees at the mine being women.
He added that they intend to employ more women as they have shown commitment through their increased contribution in the mine’s production process.
