CHROME MINERS APPEAL FOR RECOGNITION

Small scale chrome miners say they are failing to negotiate long term fixed contracts with buyers, as they are not recognised as legal miners.
In an interview with YA FM news, Confederation of Zimbabwe Small Scale Chrome Miners member Lindiwe Mpofu said only large scale chrome mining companies are able to acquire fixed contracts which contain fixed prices.
Mpofu added that this is inconveniencing small scale chrome miners, as they can only sell their chrome to Chinese buyers who buy at lower prices.
Small scale chrome miners, who constitute of a bigger percentage of chrome miners in the country, say the current chrome pricing structure is negatively affecting their production.
