Chief Masunda of Zvishavane has urged government to resolve the nurses` impasse before more people lose their lives.
Government fired thousands of striking nurses countrywide who defy a call for them to return to work.
Addressing local residents at the district independence day celebrations in Zvegona, Chief Masunda said he is concerned by the situation as it is likely to affect more people if not immediately resolved.
He also appealed to the responsible authorities to resolve the issue in an amicable manner, as ordinary citizens are the most affected.
Government has ordered hospitals to immediately start recruiting staff to replace the fired nurses, in an effort to restore normalcy in the health sector.
