CHIVI FARMERS PIN HOPES ON TOKWE MUKOSI

Chief Makonese of Chivi has appealed to the government to construct reservoirs in the area, and channel water from Tokwe Mukosi dam for irrigation activities.
Speaking to YA FM news, Chief Makonese said the area receives minimum rainfall hence the need to prioritise irrigation.
He added that this will ensure food security and economic empowerment in the area.
Meanwhile, Chief Makonese said locals are benefiting from various projects carried out at the country`s largest dam which include irrigation, command fisheries and tourism.
