MINING TO CONTRIBUTE 70% FOREX INCOMES

Mines and Mining Development permanent secretary Munesu Munodawafa says the country`s mining sector is expected to contribute more than 70% of foreign currency earnings in 2018.
Addressing delegates attending the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICAZ) conference on the sidelines of the ongoing Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo yesterday, Munodawafa said the mining sector was the biggest foreign currency earner in the country.
He said minerals such as gold and platinum group metals performed well last year and the same is expected this year.
Munodawafa said earnings from ferrochrome grew by 283% last year.
