BIGWIGS FALL BY THE WAYSIDE IN ZANU PF PRIMARIES

Minister of Transport and Mberengwa West legislator Jorum Gumbo has been given a fresh mandate to represent Zanu PF in the upcoming harmonised elections.

Honourable Gumbo polled 3968 votes while his rival Adam Ncube only garnered 1031 Mberengwa North legislator Tafanana Zhou also won the ticket to represent the party.

Zhou who faced a stiff challenge from 11 other aspiring candidates received 2225 votes with his nearest rival Tinashe Shumba garnering 1378 votes.

In Mberengwa South, Alum Mpofu who received 2 899 votes will represent the ruling party in the House of Assembly elections while Mberengwa East will be represented by Marko Raidza who polled 2763 votes.

In Zvishavane, Zvishavane-Ngezi legislator John Holder fell by the wayside with Dumezweni Mawite Mpofu on course to win the ticket to represent the ruling party. Mpofu also shrugged off stiff challenge from the party`s deputy secretary for Youth Affairs Lewis Matutu.
