Tertiary students in the mining industry have said they need to be incorporated in the industry’s research so they can understand the significance of technology in the sector.
Speaking to YA FM news, MSU Mining and Metallurgy Association president Raymond Mutsiwa said the mining industry is mainly employing veterans in the sector, at the expense of students who have just completed their studies.
Mutsiwa added that mining legislations must be aligned with the country’s economic context, as most legislations are hindering production in the sector.
The institution’s mining students association today hosted a company exhibition conference which was running under the theme “Revitalising Interest in Mining and Metallurgy”.
