Zimbabwe Miners Federation General Council has unanimously set the 14th of June 2018 as the date for its National Executive and Management Board elections.
The elections will be held in Gweru.
In a statement, ZMF Chief Executive Officer Mr Wellington Takavarasha said thirty mining associations attended the General Council meeting last week, whose main agenda was to vet the eligibility of the electoral candidates.
Qualifications for the aspiring candidates included being a registered miner with no criminal record, and a full list of the candidates will be unveiled on the 8th of June.
The ZMF executive term in office came to an end on 26 April 2018 after serving in the small scale miners’ lobby group for three years.
