Meanwhile Highlands residents in Zvishavane have petitioned for allocation of space by the local authority for the construction of a police campsite in the area ,a measure they say will curb the increased crime rate.
One Peter Moyo who is leading the petition, told YA FM news that as residents they are concerned with the rise of criminal activities in the area which include robberies, theft, rape and murder.
Moyo added that the nearest police camp is far from the residential area, which makes it difficult for victims to urgently report such cases.
Moyo said they are waiting for approval from Zvishavane Town Council as building material has already been donated by aspiring ward 4 councilor Dorcas Masango.
He said Zvishavane Town Council promised to review and respond to the petition within three days as per guidance by the Council Service Charter.
