COUNCIL TO DEAL WITH STRAY LIVESTOCK

The Zvishavane Town Council says it is working on a plan to rid the mining town of stray livestock.
Speaking at a Zvishavane Traffic Consultative Committee meeting Mr Farai Machaka said by-laws have been in place since 2015 and penalties were set at $2 a day for stray livestock.
He however said council was at the moment facing challenges with the construction of a cattle pens to hold impounded livestock.
He said Council will engage Shabanie Mine for assistance with temporary pens. He added that council has already engaged a Pound Master and they to need construct cattle pens.
Residents and motorists have for a long time complained of stray livestock in the central business district.
