PRES MNANGAGWA NAMES COMMISSION TO INVESTIGATE POST ELECTION VIOLENCE

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has named a seven member commission to investigate the post-election violence that left 6 people dead in Harare on the 1st of August.
The commission of inquiry which is made of local, regional and international figures will seek to establish the circumstances that led to the violence, to identify the actors and their leaders and the intervention carried out by the Zimbabwe Republic Police as well the circumstances that led to the involvement of the Zimbabwe National Army.
Speaking at a media briefing in Harare yesterday, President Mnangagwa said the commission will have a three month term of office from the date of swearing in and will present their findings to the president which will be made public.
