Government has received Tuberculosis Drugs to replenish the national stock which was now depleting.
Acting permanent secretary in the Ministry of Health and Child Care Dr Gibson Mhlanga says the ministry has received one month supply of anti-tuberculosis drugs and is expecting two more batches to increase the country’s tuberculosis drug levels.
Dr Mhlanga said government is expecting to increase buffer stock from 8 months to eleven months to reduce the risk of running out of stock when they fail to secure foreign currency on time.
The country is currently stocking very low levels of drugs due to foreign currency shortages and had run out of anti-t TB drugs at some institutions last week.
