Small-scale miners in Zvishavane and Mberengwa have applauded the strides government has taken in promoting mining operations in the Great Dyke in 2018.
In a telephone interview with Ya FM News, Mberengwa Miners Association Chairman Anderson Tsikira said, miners have been impressed with the support they have received from the government in 2018.
He added that the mine licensing situation at the Ministry of Mines has also improved remarkably and he hopes it will get even better in 2019.
A number of programmes were introduced in 2018 to support small-scale miners as their gold production is key to the country’s economic recovery and to the government’s vision of becoming a middle-income economy by 2030.
