The National Blood Services Zimbabwe, NBSZ says medical institutions should balance up blood groups when making orders from the blood bank to ensure effective use of blood groups.
NBSZ Midlands Information and Recruitment Officer Aggrey Ngazana told the media that blood groups that are in shortage should be used where critical.
He also advised health institutions close to the blood bank to desist from hoarding blood.
Midlands NBSZ recently announced that it had managed to surpass its blood collection targets and had enough stocks to last the festive season, with blood type O however still in short supply.
