MEDICAL DOCTORS CALL FOR DIALOGUE TO END IMPASSE WITH GOVERNMENT

Medical doctors say they want the government to restore a dialogue platform with them to solve the stalemate for them to return to work.
In an interview Zimbabwe Medical Association, ZIMA Secretary-General Dr. Sacrifice Chirisa called on the government not to take the punitive route.
He said senior doctors and specialists have thrown their support for junior doctors.
Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association Secretary-General Dr. Mthabisi Bhebhe had this to say.
Acting President Constantino Chiwenga last week warned that government will review regulations on the hiring of doctors.
Junior medical officers have been on industrial strike since the 1st of December demanding government to restock medical supplies, review their salaries and allowances and payment of salaries in US dollars, among other grievances.
