Miners in Mberengwa have been advised to exercise caution in their work during this rainy season to avoid mine collapses and unneccesary loss of life .
In a telephone interview with Ya FM news Mberengwa Miners Association Chairperson Anderson Tsikira encouraged miners not to mine in disused mines and to check their timbering before going underground.
He also said that there is a health and safety officer who is readily available to assist miners free of charge.
This comes at a time when experts are still investigating the collapse of the Wanderer Mine in Shurugwi.
