MUSICIANS MOURN LEGENDARY TUKU

Zimbabwean musicians say the void that was left by Oliver Tuku Mtukudzi in the music fraternity local,regional and abroad will be hard to fill.
Among the scores of artists who spoke to YAFM news, Sulumane Chimbetu said he has lost his second father who nurtured him through his music career.
Meanwhile Tuku’s music followers within the Great Dyke mourned the passing on of the legend musician saying they will forever cherish his music which stood the taste of time cutting through generational gaps.
Oliver Mtukudzi was born on 22 September 1952 in High-fields, Harare . He was a musician, businessman, philanthropist as well as a Goodwill Ambassador for Southern African Religion . He was recognized as Zimbabwe’s most renowned and internationally recognized cultural icon of all times.
His 66 albums contains rich music with almost every album making several hit songs that one can never be in a position to mention through also having countless collaborations with national and international artists.
Mtukudzi passed on yesterday afternoon at Avenues clinic in Harare after battling for a month with Sugar diabetes leaving behind his wife Daisy Mtukudzi, four children and 2 grandchildren.
