FARMERS CAUTIONED OVER FALL ARMY WORM

Local farmers have been encouraged to do early scouting in their fields to reduce the damage of crop by the fallarmy worm.
In an interview Independent, Technical Resource Person focusing on Pest Management Prosper Chinyakata cited that many crops in the Midlands are affected by fallarmy worm, resulting in poor yields.
The Fall armyworm is a highly destructive pest which mainly attacks cereal crops.
Since last year Government through the Department Of Research and Specialist Service has been carrying out awareness workshops on plant health focusing on mainly on the fallarmy worm.
