APEX COUNCIL DIVIDED AS TEACHERS UNIONS CALL FOR INDUSTRIAL ACTION

APEX Council Chairperson Mrs. Cecilia Alexander says the various sectors of the Apex council are divided on the decision to go on industrial action as the deadline the council gave the government to improve working conditions have expired.
In a telephone interview with YAFM, Mrs. Alexander said the Apex Council is divided and only the education sector is in support of industrial action.
Progressive Teachers Union President Takavafira Zhou also spoke to Ya FM News and said the teachers’ strike would start today.
The Apex Council is the umbrella body for civil servants organisations in salary negotiations.
