Villagers in rural areas in the Great Dyke say they are grateful to the Masiyiwa Family for the $100 million Masiyiwa Rural Challenge Fund that the Econet founder Strive Masiyiwa and his wife Tsitsi have launched to support the rural businesses and entrepreneurs in Zimbabwe.
Speaking to Ya FM news reporter Tatenda Gwezuva, Villagers said the fund will go a long way in alleviating poverty in the rural areas that have continuously relied on donor funding.
The fund which is from the Masiyiwas’ personal money will be disbursed as loans through Steward Bank a member of the Econet group. The money will support projects from rural entrepreneurs or those entrepreneurs willing to focus on rural areas.
