Members of parliament have urged Zimbabweans to cherish the independence that the country attained in 1980 and value the land and resources that the liberation struggle brought back.Great Dyke News’ Prince Purazeni caught up with Members of the Parliament Advocate Cuthbert Mpame of Zvishavane-Runde Constituency and Honorable Omega Sibanda of Vungu Constituency who outlined plans for independence celebrations. Zimbabwe gained independence from the British on April 18 1980. The day marked the end of racial segregation after a long protracted war of liberation that claimed many lives.
