INTERNATIONAL CHROMIUM DEVELOPMENT TO BOOST MINING SECTOR

Government says the International Chromium Development Conference which will be hosted by the country will provide a great opportunity to promote the country’s rich mineral resources and attract investment.Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa said the ministry of mines had updated cabinet on the hosting of the event.Zimbabwe is a signatory of International Chromium Development Association which was formed in 1984 and has a membership spanning over 24 countries from five continents has imaged as authoritative voice of the industry, dealing with chromium in all its forms. This is part of the government’s efforts towards achieving vision 2030  aimed at assisting the country in attaining upper middle income status, the mining sector is expected to achieve US$12 billion in export earnings and key to this will be making sure that it benefits from all its mineral deposits.
