Written by on May 10, 2019

Local authorities  say   churches which have   became one of their big clients in renting building are not loyal with rental payments.

Bulawayo City Council  Financial Director  Kimpton Ndimande says they are owed $2,7 million in unpaid rates and rentals by churches.

Meanwhile the City  Mayor Councilor Solomon Mguni says churches should practice what they preach and pay their dues to council.

They were speaking during an interface between city council officials and church leaders in Bulawayo.

The outstanding dues by churches contribute to the blotted amount  which most  local authorities claim  to be owed by  parastatals and
government departments.
