The Zimbabwean Government has engaged the European Union in an effort to re-establish cordial relations with countries in the EU bloc.

Speaking at the official launch of the Zimbabwe-EU dialogue, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Ambassador James Manzou said there must be open discussions on contentious issues to finding lasting solutions.


EU Ambassador to Zimbabwe Timo Olkonnen indicated that Zimbabwe will be expected to respect human rights and abide by shared values.



More than 10 representatives of the European Union member states attended the official launch of the talks in Harare. It was co-chaired by Ambassador Manzou and the EU Ambassador to Zimbabwe Ambassador Timo Olkonnen.



A ward councillor in Mberengwa is appealing to the members of the public visit Msume Hospital in Mberengwa and helps identify a young man who has been lost for a number of weeks.

Speaking to Great Dyke News Correspondent Handsome Shumba, Mberengwa South Ward 3 Councillor, Peter Mashoko said, he found a young man aged between 18 to 20 years along Ngungumbane road and he took him to the police station where he was instructed to take him to the hospital.



Disaster befell two men at Mataga Growth Point yesterday afternoon as fire razed two cars as two petrol dealers were offloading petrol from a Toyota Raum destroying surrounding properties.

Speaking to Great Dyke News Correspondent Handsome Shumba, the owner of the garage one Charumbira said the two were offloading petrol when the fire started.


However Eye witnesses that spoke to the same correspondent said the fire started when the man answered a call in the garage pit.


The injured were taken to Msume Hospital.
