Mininstry of Mines and Mining Development has suspended surveyors  in in its Mashonaland West provincial Mining offices. The suspension comes after the ministry has revealed that it was seized with a lot of complaints from stakeholders over service delivery especially from the provincial offices.

The suspensions were effected today the 5th of July where the technical staff including the provincial mining director have been suspended.

The Environmental Management Agency has urged farmers to follow proper set out veld fire management guidelines to prevent the destruction of flora and fauna as well as property by fire as the e during this time where the  fire season is fast approaching.

In a telephone interview the organisation’s environmental manager for Masvingo province Mr Milton Muusha said the Agency is currently engaging farmers with workshops and  awareness trainings.

The fire season starts on July 31 ending on October 31 where the environment will be characterized with high runaway fires due to  high levels of dry biomas. However, with climate change at hand, the period usually stretches up to the onset of the rainy season.

Residents within the Great Dyke  have called for remedial action to improve relations between Zimbabweans and Chinese nationals living and working in Zimbabwe.

Speaking to Great Dyke News’ Tariro Warara, residents expressed dissatisfaction over the treatment of fellow countrymen working for Chinese as well as the nationalities’ ruthless behavior on failing to honor local leadership. Some however said rational decision like a dialogue is required as they are not calling for their ouster in the country but challenging them to change their approach.

Meanwhile, Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa urged Zimbabweans to amicably solve cultural and customs differences  with Chinese living in the country .

Zimbabweans especially within the great dyke where Chinese are operating mining companies  are on records calling for authorities intervention claiming that they are being ill-treated especially in working places. Last month a Chinese Businessman reportedly assaulted a traditional leader in Norton.
