GOVT KEEN TO REDUCE MINE ACCIDENTS
Government has finalised amendments to the Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill, which will see small scale miners getting recognition as government steps up efforts to grow the sector and boost mineral production.

The bill now awaits presidential assent.
Addressing small scale miners, minister Chitando says the government is keen to adopt policies that will revitalise the mining sector as well as giving small scale miners an opportunity for growth.
Minister Chitando also said the government has put in place the initial framework to reduce accidents through gold centers which would be rolled out throughout the country , with the first one expected to commence operations in Bubi this Wednesday.
