Tour de Great Dyke is a charity cycling event aimed at empowering children in the Great Dyke through education.
Tour de Great Dyke is a 550km cycling event that stretches from the top of the Great Dyke at snake head in Musengezi past Hartley complex, home of Zimplats, to Selukwe complex where Unki Mine is located all the way to Wedza complex, home of Mimosa Mining Company in Zvishavane.
The annual event was launched in 2016 to enhance awareness of the immense investment opportunities across the mineral rich Great Dyke.
Tour de Great Dyke has participation from mining teams from Zimplats, Unki Mine, African Chrome fields, Mimosa Mining Company and Great Dyke Investments.
Tour de Great Dyke is supported by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, Ministry of Mines and Mining Development, Town councils of Chegutu, Shurugwi and Zvishavane, two Cities of Gweru and Kwekwe and the Municipality of Kadoma.
The tour is broadcast on TV, radio and digital platforms
Proceeds are directed to Gifted Children, a foundation created to support talented but underprivileged children across the Great Dyke, The objective is to have 100% literacy in the Great Dyke by 2025.
